FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

*Does my child have to pay for overdue books?

No, PISD students are not expected to pay for overdue library books.

*Will my student be expected to pay for lost or damaged books?

Yes, please email Mrs. Browne if you do not have a library notice, and she will let you know the replacement cost.

*As a parent, can I check out library books?

Yes, you may check out library books for your child(ren). Please email Mrs. Browne and she will work with you on a time that you can check out library books.

*As a Dooley parent or guardian, may I volunteer in the Dooley library?

Yes, please complete our district VOLY volunteer form here. Once you have received confirmation from PISD, please email Mrs. Browne to coordinate volunteer times.

*How long should I read with my child each day?

Research shows that reading for at least 20 minutes each day with your child has multiple benefits (including exposure to a lot more words, higher test scores on standardized tests in reading, and even more empathy for others). (Please encourage your older children to read to their younger siblings.)
